Musings about sports in general, & Cricket in particular. With baseball season coming up, will look into that, too. And lots of good cricket in 2007, including the World Cup.

The Aussies have the Windies well in hand. Not more be said. Lara's leading run scorer; soon, Warnie's leading wicket taker. In this case, those little moments ARE the show, as a rout in any situation is still a rout.
As of this writing, England are still lacking the edge they displayed in the Ashes series--perhaps the Asian soil is not to their liking? That is, if the team doesn't fall apart physically. It could be a long winter if things don't get better.

The great Brian Lara, walking off into immortality.
11:44 AM
Missed the 1st two days of the Australia-West Indies match: was on holiday & didn't have internet access. Listened the last two nights though, & it has not disappointed. Lara is having a fantastic career Autumn, & so is Warnie. Those two are out rewriting the record books in this series. Test cricket's best run-scorer versus its best wicket-taker: it doesn't get any better than that. At present, Lara is playing with abandon & his usual swashbuckling style. It's like he doesn't care about the totals--he's just there to have fun & do his part. Warnie's clearly relishing these particular wickets. It's a fun series, even if it slowly, inexerably heads to another Aussie triumph.

England v. Pakistan
Looks like the English Cricket firecracker is maybe returning to Earth, or at least reality. The Pakistanis have been showing up England a bit. Of course, with all the injuries, it's a bit hard to be at your best, especially on foreign soil, in an especially turbulant part of the world. Let's hope the lads get back on stride.
